New Delegate Committee
The Head Chair for the Future Committee is Roni

Welcome to the Future Committee!
This is a beginners’ committee and for many of you, this will be your first conference. I was in the same position two years ago when I read a message similar to this one on the MUNHIGH18 website introducing the same committee. My advice would be to read through the briefing papers below and ensure that you are well-informed enough to feel confident during what I’m sure will be a weekend of fruitful debate. Aiming to write at least one resolution, with help from the guide on the Delegates’ Page is also recommended even if this is your first conference.
The first of the issues we will be debating is The Issue of Space Militarisation. This involves the placement and development of weaponry and military technology in outer space, with many nations believing that the United Nations has still not done enough to completely ensure the prevention of a space arms race.
Our second topic is The Issue of the Right to Live in International Waters. For this issue, it may be useful to consider the future of seasteading: building floating societies with significant political autonomy.
Thirdly, we will be debating The Issue of Genetic Modification: the process of altering the genetic makeup of an organism. Here, we may consider the future of GM crops and the ethical impact of genetic modification on humans.
Each delegate should endeavour to accurately represent the views of their member state.
All resolutions must be submitted by Thursday 30th January (11:59 pm)
Please email all resolutions to:
In the subject line, include your COMMITTEE, COUNTRY, and the ISSUE

Please ensure all resolutions are emailed to the above address by the deadline as we cannot accept resolutions brought in on USB flash drives on the day. Please also bring at least one paper copy of your resolution to the conference for lobbying purposes.
